![]() It integrates a bunch of unused and cut content, adds a ton of QoL/features that dramatically change certain playstyles, and polishes everything up to a mirror finish with a bunch of neat little options (randomizers/hardcore modes) that boost replayability even further. ![]() GMDX (the RSD version) is basically a "fan's cut plus" version of the game. I had to give it up the first time I played because of the bizarre gameplay decisions, and nothing in the years since has convinced me that it's improved at all. Impressively bipolar, it screws with core gameplay loops either by changing way too much in levels (UNATCO feels like a bizarrely-designed labyrinth, Hong Kong is now too expansive for its own good as there's nothing to do) or not changing anything except for some color grading. Revision never should have come out the way it did. Did you try launching the game without the mod first If not, maybe it has nothing to do with. There are also renderers for some specific, non-newest, game versions: Rune 1.00/1.01. NOT Compatible with Rune Classic (Steam). ![]() If you have to go for one of the two "big" mods, though, opt for GMDX. Tested with Rune 1.07 and Halls of Valhalla 1.07 and 1.08. I once thought GMDX was suitable for a beginner, but I have to echo the crowd and say that you should play through the game at least once on vanilla (albeit with some QoL mods like Transcended or the unofficial patch) to experience the original vision of the game. ![]()
